This type of massage is beneficial because it reaches the deepest layer of muscle, fascia (connective tissue surrounding the joints and tendons) The goal is to break down adhesions (areas of tension in the muscle). These are important to address as they cause pain, inflammation and limit motion of the muscles and joints.

Deep tissue massage can help alleviate pain, recover from injuries (sports, whiplash, trauma), increase mobility, decrease muscle tension, recover from repetitive stresses such as sports, computer use, lifting etc.
